Welcome to Write On the Scene, my name is Susie Winfield and am the owner of this site. I started this venture to help aspiring writers face their fears and pursue their purpose. 

For years I thought about writing, I read about writing and consumed videos and podcasts about writing. I got sick of acquiring knowledge and not doing anything with it. 

In my 20’s and 30’s, very rarely did I write in public where I could get feedback. I don’t want that to be you. You can’t become the writer you have always wanted to be if no one reads what you have written. 

Mission Statement:

If you feel that you are not the best writer. You can get better if you post on social media or start a blog? I promise you that you will want to tackle the online world way before you decide to write a book. Writing online will help you get feedback. Even if you just get a few likes or comments that only say “good job” at least you’re on the right track. 

Why do I say that?

Because many times people just read content and go on about their day. If they take the time to engage with your writing that means it meant something to them.

Inspiration Behind the Blog:

I’ve been an aspiring writer for longer than any paying job I’ve ever held. That includes the 25 years at my good government job. But I used many of the skills that I learned at my job to help me build my writing career into a business. 

Let me help you do the same. 

My Writing Journey:

I have written poetry, short stories and novels for 30 years. Ask me how often I published anything? I do have that one book of poetry on Amazon but I don’t talk about that…much. 

I also have an old blog that I used to dabble on a few months a year for maybe 12 years. 

But in 2023, I posted a few times a month (sometimes daily) for an entire year on Medium.

I received the engagement that I needed to stay consistent and to get better at my craft. 

Let me share what I learned with you. 

Core Values:

I know you’ve heard the phrase, “There’s nothing new under the sun.” Meaning there aren’t any stories that haven’t been told. But no one has told “your” story the way “you” can tell it. We all have a voice discover yours and let your piece of the world hear it LOUDLY.

Target Audience:

I want to help you write, right now. Not 20 or 30 years from now. If you have been thinking about becoming a writer for years, the time to take action is now. 

I can’t honestly say that I have all of the answers but I can say that I know how you feel. And I won’t tell you something that I have not at least tried and received positive results. I’ll even let you know what mistakes I made and what I would have done differently in hindsight with my current set of skills and knowledge.
